Virtual perspective worked with Lake Macquarie City Council to help them develop a smart phone Virtual Reality application to generate conversation amongst the community about the future of the city. Lake Macquarie City Council wanted to get city residents to come up with ideas and engage in conversation about the future of the city. Using stylised art within the VR experience, several conceptual ideas were put forward including: a bridge across the lake, a Ferris wheel, a ferry, a lakeside waterpark amongst other things. The app allowed the user to virtually travel to 3 different lakeside locations around the city and see hypothetically how the city may look 40 years from now, and help them to think about how they make like to see their city evolve. The Lake Macquarie City Council 2050’s app is available to download for iPhone here or Android here.
