Virtual perspective worked closely in conjunction with the University of Newcastle and the Hunter Living Histories historical society to put together a Virtual Reality walk through tour of the city as it was during its early days as a 19th century settlement and penal colony. Historians Charles Martin and Russell Rigby from Hunter Living Histories provided Virtual Perspective with historically accurate 3D models of the landscape, town layout and buildings that they had previously developed, which we then converted into a Virtual Reality experience. The tour takes the user around the city’s main historical sites and allows them to see how things would have looked 200 years ago, providing them with a greater understanding and appreciation for the heritage of the city.
